GOALPOST: POWER OF VISION

PROVERBS 29:18

"Where there is no vision, the people perish…" —  (KJV)

EXHORTATION 

A football match without goalposts is meaningless. No matter how skillful the players are, how much effort they put in, or how long the game lasts, if there are no goalposts, there will be no direction, no purpose, and no victory. Life works the same way—without a clear vision, our efforts become scattered, and we may find ourselves running aimlessly, achieving little or nothing.

Vision is the ability to see beyond the present, to perceive what is possible, and to pursue it with determination. Its discovering God's purpose for our lives and living it out. Just as goalposts define the objective of a game, vision defines the purpose of our lives.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish…" Vision is the power of living. It gives focus, fuels faith, gives direction, fuels passion and persistence, attracts provision, leads to fulfillment and keeps you going even when obstacles arise. Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David etc were men driven by the power of vision.

Your life is a game, and your vision is the goalpost. Don’t live aimlessly neither be discouraged nor distracted. Seek God’s vision for your life, write it down, and pursue it with love, faith and diligence. When challenges arise, remember that as long as you keep your eyes on the goal, with God on your side, victory is inevitable!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

Take time to reflect on these questions and allow God to guide you as you pursue His purpose for your life.

1. What is the vision God has placed in your heart? Have you written it down and committed it to prayer?

2. Are you running toward your goal, or are you distracted by obstacles and detours? How can you refocus?

3. Do you trust God’s timing for your vision? How do you handle delays and setbacks?

4. What practical steps can you take today to move closer to your God-given vision?

5. Who are the people God has placed around you to support your vision? Are you maximizing those relationships?

6. Is your vision aligned with God’s will, or are you chasing personal ambition? How can you ensure your goals honor God?

7. What scriptures can you meditate on to strengthen your faith and perseverance in pursuing your vision?

AFFIRMATIONS

Speak these affirmations to yourself and your environment and let them fuel your faith as you pursue your God-given vision!

1. I am created with a purpose, and my vision is clear and God-given.

2. I walk in divine direction, and I will not be distracted or discouraged.

3. I am unstoppable because my vision is fueled by God’s power and purpose.

4. Every obstacle is an opportunity for growth, and I will not give up.

5. I am equipped, empowered, and destined for greatness.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for giving me a vision for my life. Help me to focus on Your plan, to run with purpose, and to trust in Your guidance. Strengthen me to overcome every obstacle and bring Your vision for my life to fulfillment. In Jesus' name, Amen.
